Ambersett Consultancy Ltd. was formed in late 2006 after its founder, Bill Hurr, discovered that low to medium priced vehicle theft claims were not being examined for fraud as it was simply too costly. Ambersett is familiar with all makes and models of car, truck and light commercial vehicle and now inspects stolen recovered vehicles and keys for stolen cars for more than 20 leading insurance companies and claims handlers and most recently for police major incident teams.

I have invested in new equipment to increase the scope of the services I can provide and pride myself on the fact that Ambersett has, to date, enabled UK insurers to repudiate over 7 million pounds worth of fraudulent claims. 2010 has been even busier than 2009 as Ambersett continues to deliver results for its clients.

Current trends show an increase in fraudulent insurance claims, and policy holders are going to new levels to try and fool their insurance companies. "Woooooow wo woooooaaaah, my Passat's on fire..."

One "flaming" fibber of a PH submitted a claim for the loss of his 2001 Passat. He claims it was stolen, only to be found abandoned with minor interior fire damage. There were no signs of a break in.. because the PH drove the car to the burn locus himself, set fire to the interior, shut and locked the doors with his key and then "hot footed" it away. The fire quickly went out due to a lack of oxygen due to the doors and windows being shut. He should have spotted the CCTV camera... it spotted him!!

Ambersett is now working with a Spanish Insurance Claims Handler, with offices in mainland Spain and Gibraltar in partnership with Eurotecs. This new partnership brings a new technical angle to compliment the investigation service already offered by Kevin Street of Eurotecs.
